During the weekend 21st-23rd March 2014 we were glad to receive the visit in Spain of Mr Mike Haslam (Executive President of the International Dragon Boat Federation and President of the European Dragon Boat Federation) and Mr Alan Van Caubergh (Treasurer of the International Dragon Boat Federation and Chairman of the European Dragon Boat Federation). In order to analyze the current situation of the Dragon Boat in Spain and how to develop it, they met with:
- Mr David Martínez (president of the “Dragon Boat Association of Spain”, vice president of the Spanish Federation of Canoe, and president of the Regional Federation of Canoe in Murcia).
- Mr Jose Juan Jiménez (vice president of the “Dragon Boat Association of Spain”).
- Mr Nicolás López (vice president of the Regional Federation of Canoe in
- Murcia, and president of the Dragon Boat Pinatar Club).
- Mr Antonio García Zapata (Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Tourism of San Pedro del Pinatar).
- Mr Pedro Luís Vera Navarro (Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Sports of San Pedro del Pinatar).
- Mr Raul López (vice president of the Dragon Boat Pinatar Club).
- Mr Jorge Carracedo (Team manager of the Dragon Boat Pinatar Club and trainer of the Spanish Dragon Boat Team).
- Mr José M. Carrillo (Team captain of the Dragon Boat Pinatar Club and of the Spanish Dragon Boat Team).
- Mr Pedro López (trainer of the Dragon Boat Pinatar Club Team).

Besides this, Mr José M. Carrillo was certificated as a Dragon Boat Helm, Coach and Official, and some of the Spanish paddlers were certificated as helms (requirement for the 2014 Club Crew World Championships – Ravena Italy. September 4-7th, 2014)
